Sarojini Naidu Vanita Maha Vidyalaya was established in the year 1962 by the Osmania Graduates’ Association and the Exhibition Society. It is one of the largest women’s college in the state of Telangana. The college is reaccredited with ‘A’ Grade by NAAC and is affiliated to Osmania University. The college has a Hostel attached which can accommodate 400 inmates.

Infrastructure
The college is spread over 3.8 acres in the sprawling exhibition grounds with 64 classrooms, well equipped 36 Science Labs, 10 computer labs, with modern teaching aids like smart boards and LCD’s projectors, 3 separate libraries for UG, PG and MBA, 2 University Recognised Research Centers, indoor and outdoor sports arena, 800 seating capacity Auditorium, Golden Jubilee Seminar Hall, CCTV’s, Signage boards.
Faculty
The college has highly qualified 145 teaching staff with M.Phil and Ph.D, and 95 non-teaching staff. A few of the faculty members are Research Guides. Currently there are10 Major and Minor Research Projects underway. Some of the faculty members also on the Board of Studies in the University and Autonomous colleges. Many of the faculty members are Resource Persons.
Academic Standards
Students of M.Sc Zoology have been the University Toppers consecutively for the past three years. The PG students have consistently secured Osmania Graduates Association (OGA) Platinum Jubilee Gold Medals by topping in most of the subjects at PG level amongst the OGA colleges. MBA results have consistently been 100% followed by the PG with 96%. The UG results have been around 70% way ahead of the University average percentage. Students and faculty of Vanita have also been participating in various seminars and conferences and have been presenting papers and poster presentations. The institution also has consistently been conducting conferences, seminars, faculty development programmes, workshops, science exhibition, open day, extension lectures, inter-class and inter collegiate competitions.
Placements
The Dynamic Placement Cell imparts Campus Recruitment Training for the final year students with the help of External faculty and inculcates a sense of confidence amongst the students. The Cell conducts on campus and off campus recruitment drives and every year and companies like GENPACT, TRANSDYNE, MEDWRITE, WIPRO, INFOSYS etc., recruit a number of our students.
Achievements
Students of Vanita have won laurels at Inter Collegiate, University, District, State, National and International levels in various Literary, Cultural, Sports and Games activities. NSS and NCC students participate in the Republic Day parade and National Integration camps. 11 of the faculty members have been recipients of State Best Teacher Awards, 1 NSS Programme Officer is the recipient of State & Indira Gandhi National NSS Programme Officer Award.
