Kasturba Gandhi Junior College for Women, Secunderabad was established in the year 1973. One of the 18 Educational Institutions managed by the Exhibition Society. It began with a humble strength of 175 students and a faculty of 8 members. Today it caters to the educational needs of over 1000 students with a staff strength of 48 members.

Infrastructure

The Junior College block comprises of 15 spacious, well ventilated class rooms, four well equipped science labs, four modern computer labs with eighty computers, a well stocked library and a sports room with a gym. The office is equipped with a copier, printer, a scanner and three computers to help the staff do their work efficiently.

Faculty

The college consists of General Courses and Vocational Courses Aided Faculty of 15 members and Un-aided part time faculty of 16 members and supported by 17 members of Non-teaching staff.

Academic Standards

The college stood first among the Aided Junior Colleges in twin cities for the academic year 2013-14 both in1st year and 2nd year Intermediate courses in Intermediate Public Examination conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education in March, 2014. Mayuri Chandra scored 98.41% securing state 5th rank in BPC. The college has been excelling in sports.

Admissions

The students were admitted in various streams for the academic year 2013-14 to a tune of 441 and during during the academic year 2014-15 the intake has gone upto 577 with a difference of 136

NCC

J.R. Bhavani of MEC-II who holds the rank of Junior Under Officer and is going to attend the parade on 26th January in the local Republic Day Parade. Our girls who belong to 1st Andhra Girls Battalion lifted the shield when they won the 1st prize in the Flag Area competition.
