Sri Venkateshwara College :


Late Sri Amaravadi Venkata Narsaiah, a prominent citizen of Suryapet had donated 82 acres of land in order to realize his life's ambition of spreading higher education in the rural backward areas of Telangana. Living unto the cherished desire of the donor of the land, the Osmania Graduates' Association, the champions of the cause, committed it self to providing education to people in Telangana Region. The Organisation came forward to start a degree college under the guidance of late Sri Shankerji in the year 1971 with B.A., and B.Com. courses, catering to 90 students initially.

Ever since the beginning, the College has been successful in catering to educational needs of the students residing in and around Suryapet. The College originally located in Zilla Parishad High School in Suryapet, was shifted to its own campus spread over an area of 37 acres with generous financial support from the Osmania Graduates' Association & ,the Exhibition Society, Hyderabad. So far the college has assets worth Rs.2 crores, with a magnificent building comprising of 34 class rooms, library, laboratories and an administrative block etc., As a measure of development in a phased manner B.A. in Edn., B. Rural Banking, B. Sc (MPE) and B. Sc (MPC) courses were started in the year 1977-78, 1978-79, 1980-81 and 1984-85 respectively. In keeping with vocationalisation of Higher Education as advocated by the Government in recent years, the College introduced Vocational Computer Courses with Computer Applications, Computer Maintenance as the main thrust during the years 1997-98 and 1999-2000 in the Tools, Hardware etc. it secured approval of the U.G.C.
