Sri Ramalingeshwara College

Sri Ramalingeshwara Degree College was started at Kulekcharla in Ranga Reddy Dist. during the academic year 1994-95.

The College serves the requirement of plus two and undergraduate education in the backward rural area. This college was started when Sri K. Ram Reddy Palamur Minister for Revenue was the President of Exhibition Society. Sri Sanjeevan Kumar, the personal secretary to the Minister, belongs to this small backward village. On his request, Sri Ram Reddy initiated the process of establishing this institution. The Minister advised the Exhibition Society to undertake the endeavour, the result being Sri Ramalingeshwara Degree College. 7.5 acres of land was purchased at nominal rate from the villagers. However, due to lack of support and encouragement from the local people in the late 1990s, the College suffered on account of drastic depletion in the student strength. The Exhibition Society had taken a resolution to close down the institution.

However, some members strongly resisted the move and took over revitalization of this college, particularly in the year 2000. The members, who strove to develop this college, include Sri V. Sudershan, Sri S. Padma Rao, Prof. T. V. Gopala Chari, Sri M. Madhusudan, Sri Ahmed Hussain Sri P. Vasanth Rao, M. Vijayender Reddy and Sri S. Bal Reddy. Due to their dedicated efforts, the college developed its infrastructure- spacious classrooms, library, laboratories etc. Sri Ramalingeshwara Degree College offers B.A. and B.Com. courses with the current strength of 300 students. It has its own building.

Considering the need for promotion of intermediate education in the region, Intermediate Section was introduced in the year 2007. It houses 200 students.
