Kasthurba Gandhi Junior College :


Kasturba Gandhi College for Women was started in the year 1973 by the Osmania Graduates' Association and financed by the Exhibition Society. Initially the college catered to both intermediate and degree education under the same management. It had a strength of 175 students under the leadership of Dr. Sridevi, a pioneer in the field of education.

In the year 1990, the two colleges were separated and the Kasturba Gandhi Junior College came into existence under the first Principal, Dr. B. Susheela. The present Principal, Smt. S. Swarnalatha has been leading the institution over the years taking it on the path of progress and churning out the best students year after year. Presently, the student strength of 1100 are taught by academically accomplished 30 teachers, ably administered by 12 non-teaching staff. Computer Education has been made compulsory for Intermediate students.

Junior college students have excelled both in the academic and sports fields. The College boasts of several State Rank Holders in academics. The Department of Physical Education has produced champions at the State and National levels. The year 1999-2000 heralded a list of achievers in the sports field.
